- Disk management - Adding disk volumes, extending disk volumes size, creating File systems etc
- Network management - ability to create / modify configuration files, troubleshooting using OS supplied tools
- Using Remote Management Tools like ssh, telnet, scp, VNC, rsync
- Performing Installation of Databases Mysql in Linux
- Configuration and Management of Firewall (Software/ Hardware), Perform Security Administration
- System Processes' administration and management like monitoring, start/stop/kill various processes/sub process.
- Scheduling various regular, periodic, future, queue tasks by using crontab
Backup of data using automated scripts and restore - Working knowledge on Request Tracker, an open source issue-tracking system.
- Work experience with the operation of source code control systems (CVS)
- Documentation of various regular administrative tasks and backup procedures etc.
- Configuring cluster using Heartbeat for Fail Safe
