We are looking for a Tech Leads, Principal Engineers, Architects to join the YST Vertex team. Vertex is a next generation search product which does the semantic extraction from web and uses the information to present rich and enriched results to the search user. Sounds interesting ? Vertex is a complex system with UI for editors who annotate interesting pages and complex algorithms creating rules for extraction, back end for applying these rules, systems to validate and monitor the rules. Bring in the web-scale and the challenges become even more interesting. Vertex is a key component of the search differentiation layer of the Yahoo! web search .The road map for Vertex in future is to evolve into a Unified Extraction Framework that would supply rich information from webs by running parallel processes on the grid. This would enable us towards becoming a key content provider for WOO (Web Of Objects) initiative as well.

• Responsibilities:
o Responsible for design, implementation/development unit testing of a module
o Participate in trouble shooting various problems in the system
• Minimum Job Qualifications
o Proficiency in Java, Database design, web technologies
o Solid understanding of data structure and algorithms
o Strong problem solving and analytical skills
o Good understanding of large scale systems
o BS/MS Computer Science (or equivalent), 5+ years industry experience
• Preferred Job Qualifications
o Development on LAMP tech stack
Job Description - Principal Engineer
• Responsibilities:
o Responsible for design, implementation/development and unit testing of various modules – a complete hands-on
o Participate in trouble shooting various problems in the system
o Participate in design discussion and reviews
• Minimum Job Qualifications
o Proficiency in Java, Database design, web technologies
o Solid understanding of data structure and algorithms
o Strong problem solving and analytical skills
o Good understanding of large scale systems
o BS/MS Computer Science (or equivalent), 8+ years industry experience
• Preferred Job Qualifications
o Development on LAMP tech stack
Job Description – Architects
• Responsibilities:
o Responsible for designing/architect-ing/implementation various modules
o Interacting with stake holders/customers to understand requirements
o Brainstorming and coming up with ideas/features/technology that would drive the product to next level
o Participate in trouble shooting various problems in the system
o Participate in code review
• Minimum Job Qualifications
o Proficiency in Java, Database design, web technologies
o Solid understanding of data structure and algorithms
o Strong problem solving and analytical skills
o Understanding of large scale systems
o Has proven record of design/architect-ing at least one system
o BS/MS Computer Science (or equivalent), 12+ years industry experience
