2.     Job Title:     Senior QA Engineer / Principal Engineer

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

·        Wide exposure to network transport and common application protocols

·       Experience testing firewall applications

·       An understanding of network performance, concepts and current practices

·       Experience testing Web Applications (in house and third party), Servlets, GWT, Ajax

·       Experience testing Java Applications

·       3-5 years experience in commercial software testing

·       BS in Computer Science or equivalent with an MS preferred

·       Strong QA test methodologies (white & black box)

·       Strong understanding of Linux environment

 

Highly Desirable

 

·         Strong experience with testing tools (Winrunner, Purify, etc.)

Description:   This person will have all the responsibilities of a QA Engineer.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

·         Qualification:  B.Tech/ M.Tech. Masters of Computer Applications/ MS

 

Must Haves Skills:

 

·         2-4 years of hands on Software testing experience (Web-based testing will be an added plus)

·         Advanced level QA skills

·         Coding and automation using VB/C# /Perl/Python required

·         Should be experienced in code reviews and basic white-box testing

·         Specialized testing knowledge e.g Performance, Security (at least one)

·         Basic knowledge of database systems (SQL Server in particular)

 

Nice to Have skills:

 

·         Any professional certification e.g CCNA, MCSE, MCSD or CSTE preferable

·         Coding Proficiency in the following preferred: VB-Script, Python / Perl , C#

·         Proficiency in Loadrunner & QTP would be a plus

·         Experience working with MS-SQL databases

·         Exposure to Quality Centre is preferred

·         Exposure to Web Services testing

·         Experience in evaluating / working with SaaS based Applications is preferred.

Description:   This is for a Senior QA  Engineer working for applications developed in McAfee Labs. This individual will be responsible for formulating test strategies, establishing and improving QA process/procedures, creating test plans/test cases, leading and mentoring other team members, and all activities aimed at improving the customer experience with the product.

 

Location:            Bangalore

 

Basic Function and Scope of the Position

·         This individual will be responsible for testing software products based on advanced technology: C++, ASP.NET, C# using IE & Mozilla browsers, for delivery on Windows platforms, using relational databases including MS SQL Server.

·         The candidate will work closely with Development to understand product requirements, ensure process compliance and provide regular status updates.

·         Should have the ability & insatiable appetite for chasing down challenging technical problems, good debugging capabilities, a strong interest in working with client-server technologies, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

 

Specific Responsibilities/Functions

·         The responsibilities will include the following:

·         Understand the product/feature requirements in depth

·         Research related technology areas and come up with test strategy/test plans

·         Test plan development and documentation

·         Be able to interact with different teams and work with them in resolving bugs, ensuring that the product meets the quality expectations

·         Test / guide the team in testing the product to meet the quality expectations

·       Adding detection and repair as necessary for integration into the McAfee antivirus product line

·        Familiarity with one or more programming languages
