Senior DBA requirements:
Qualification: Msc(IT)/B-Tech/ BE from reputed institute
Skills: Oracle 10g, Database Administrator, DBA, Oracle, Data Guard, Linux Platform, RAC, Core ASM, Real-time, OLAP, Online Analytical Processing, Reporting, Oracle DW DBA, Monitor, Performance tuning,Experience with Oracle RAC, Excellent SQL skills
 
Strong communication skills, Team players, customer-support focused attitude
Experience: 6+ years experience
 
Job Requirements:
•               Thorough knowledge of Oracle RDBMS 10g and 11i environments.
•               5+ years in Database Administration/ support in Oracle RDBMS 10g 24x7 production environment.
•               Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Tuning and using stats pack/AWR.
•               Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of database internals and data structures
•               Strong troubleshooting skills within and outside database environment.
•               Strong knowledge of SQL/SQL*Plus and strong understanding of PL/SQL and stored procedures/pkgs.
•               Strong Data modeling skills in OLTP, DSS databases
•               Strong Knowledge of Database Backup and recovery using RMAN and logical backups.
•               Strong Knowledge of OEM /Oracle Grid for 10g.
•               Strong knowledge of Unix shell or Perl scripting languages.
•               Should have working knowledge in SQL Server database
•               Exposure to Oracle Discoverer, Oracle Warehouse builder tools.
•               Should be Oracle Certified Professional
•               Provide on-call and technical support as required, will be part of an on-call rotation.
•               Experience working in an environment supporting real time or critical transactions.
•               Experience with supporting Web Applications is a Must & Supporting the Production and Development Databases is crucial.
 
Plus:  Has worked within a Data Warehouse (possibly as an Oracle DW DBA) and Data Modelling
           Working Knowledge in DB2/MS SQL server/My SQL, Oracle Certifications.
 
Responsibilities :
* Provide day to day support for the Oracle databases.
* Assist with the design, installation, tuning, and data structure development of Sentry's applications.
* Analyze patches, test, and deploy them.
* Reliably communicate with management and application developers over email,  phone, and ticketing system.
* Disaster recovery preparation, planning, and testing.
* Resolve technical issues, creating TARs if needed.
* Develop and modify documentation of processes such as backup, recovery, data guard, etc.
* Adhere to the published on-call availability schedule.
